Same Sex Wedding at the American Swedish Historical Museum

We love photographing Same Sex weddings! We have noticed it might not be as easy for a same sex couple to find the right photographer for them. You should feel comfortable with your wedding photographer and it takes a certain amount of experience with posing to get it right. We are so happy when a couple decides on us to capture their special day, no matter their skin color or if the person they love is of the same sex. Love is love and we just love to be around it! And Garrett and Josh were such an awesome couple to capture. They met 10 years ago and finally had the wedding of their dreams. This same sex wedding at the American Swedish Historical Museum was such an amazing day.

Together with our Lead Associate Photographer Jen, we had a blast with these two and of course their 4 legged son Higgins. And how cute is his with his bow tie. We have a whole Pinterest board filled with photos of couples who include their pets in their wedding day. It’s possibly our favorite thing ever!!

We started with the two of them getting ready together with their family and wedding party at their awesome house in south Philly. We love photographing couples in their own homes surrounded by their love ones. And we Really Really LOVE when couples get ready together. It is so great to have them spend the whole wedding day together. There were just so many personalized moments with the Garrett and Josh getting ready in their own space. For instance they are both avid runners and we could highlight their medals. And they went to a ceramics class and made some fun art that we found to take some cool ring shots!! It’s just so much more personal and having their own elements in those photos will make them that much more special.

Next we headed over to FDR Park and made a stop first at the skate park to take some photos with their wedding party. We did some wandering around the park before heading up to their venue. I just love FDR Park. I think it is one of Philly’s best parks and so many people have never been there. And the Swedish Museum is such an amazing venue. The weather was perfect for their outdoor ceremony and reception in the tent. Jeffrey Miller did a fantastic doing all the catering and setting everything up. Andi was their coordinator, who also has her own planning business, Forever Love Events. She was so great to work with. The whole place looked awesome thanks to her as well as the beautiful florals from Carl Alan.

We loved everything about Garrett and Josh’s day, and we are sure they did too! Everyone in their families and wedding party were all so sweet and everyone was great to work with. Lou DiMarco kept the dance floor full and Jen ran the BG Booth where everyone was having a blast!!
It is so hard to believe that people have an issue with Same Sex marriages. Love is Love and these two are so madly in love with each other. We are proud to stand with Love and to photograph such fantastic moments. We are so honored Garrett and Josh chose BG Productions to capture it all.

Oh man. What an AWESOME wedding.

I loved checking out these grooms’ big day at the American Swedish Historic Museum. You did such a great job capturing their spirit and their love story. I adored the fact that they both got ready together, you never see that in traditional weddings. Such a cool and touching little moment that melted my heart.

    Wonderful work!

As a Boston terrier Mom, I’m biased. These are AMAZING! I love how the couple incorporated their Boston into their wedding day at the American Swedish Museum.

These are such perfect Philadelphia same sex wedding photos! I love the mix of classic Philly from the Swedish Historic Museum, and the urban Philly photos from FDR’s skate park. Your LGBTQ posing is really stellar. Although I don’t know you well, your love of all people’s love stories always shines through. Beautiful work.
