Cathie Berrey Honored with IBA Business Leader Award at Philadelphia MED Week 2025

We are excited to announce that BeauMonde Originals owner and founder, Cathie Berrey, has received the IBA Business Leader Award from Independent Business Alliance (IBA), at the 41st Annual Philadelphia MED Week.

This recognition honors Cathie’s lifelong commitment to creativity, authenticity and advocacy, which have always been part of the mission of BeauMonde Originals.

Micro Economic Development (MED) Week in Philadelphia, taking place on October 6-10, 2025, celebrates the exceptional accomplishments of small, local, and underrepresented businesses that enrich our city. The theme of MED Week this year, “In Pursute of Bold Solutions for Today’s Challenges,” demonstrated the resilience and innovative nature of the Philadelphia entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The week began with the MED Week Kickoff Breakfast & Awards Ceremony at the National Constitution Center where local chambers of commerce recognized outstanding heroes who are making an impact throughout the region. The IBA was proud to award the Business Leader Award to Cathie Berrey of BeauMonde Originals, recognizing her work as a creative professional and her advocacy for diversity, social justice, and the power of visual storytelling.

Many from the community have come to know Cathie through her photography work at IBA’s premier events and, beyond that, her passion for uplifting purposeful brands and organizations through art and media.

The MED Week Awards gather together Philadelphia‘s diversified business community, with organizations that include the African American Chamber of Commerce, Asia American Chamber of Commerce, and Greater Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, among others, that are co–chairing the event, such as Independent Business Alliance (LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce).

We also congratulate Felix Perez of Perez Therapy LLC, who was recognized by the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, for his leadership and impact on the community. Similarly, honorees like Cathie and Felix exemplify the spirit of inclusion, collaboration, and innovation that continues to move Philadelphia forward.

Now in its 41st year, Philadelphia MED Week establishes linkages with small and minority-owned businesses that have access to resources, partnerships, and mentorship. It is a celebration of the entrepreneurs who drive economic growth and transformative change in the city.

BeauMonde Originals, a creative agency located in Philadelphia and owned by a group of women and members of the LGBTQ+ community, provides services that range from photography, videography, to web design and social media management. Led by Cathie Berrey, BeauMonde Originals partners with businesses, nonprofits, and individuals on purpose–driven endeavors to tell authentic and heartfelt stories.
